Operated
by the Mexican Government, the golf course of Huatulco is located at
Bahia Tangolunda. Surrounded by both mountains and sea, the
course offers a great number of interesting challenges and picturesque
vistas. From the championship tees, the course plays about 6,800
yards, 6,300 from the whites. The course is said to be
challenging, scenic, playable and definitely worth the effort.

Better
known as the “An Introduction to the Jungle ”, the ATV jungle tour offers exciting and fast paced tours on four wheel motorcycles through the
tropical jungle. You will also visit the virgin beaches of
Cacaluta where you can sun, swim and play at the sand dunes. Contact

Rancho
Caballo de Mar offers scenic and personalized tours along the pristine
beach of La Bocana with 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. departures. The
excursions are about 3 1/2 hours long with a break for swimming, eating
and drinking.

The
National Mexican Turtle Museum is under the direction of the National
Fisheries Institute. The exhibit offers all varieties of sea
turtle that live in the coastal waters of Mexico. Additionally,
there are 6 species of fresh water turtles and 2 species of land
turtles. The center is located about an hour from Huatulco, west of
Puerto Angel on the San Antonio Federal Highway. Museum hours
are: Tuesday through Saturday10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-2:30pm.

Shopping
in La Crucecita is a wonderful experience! Walking through the
markets, craft shops and boutiques, means you’ll be in close contact
with the traditions and culture of the Oaxacan people, proud of their
culture.

Here
you’ll find exquisite handmade stone, bead and silver jewelry, famous
Oaxacan black clay pottery, hand-woven textiles including rugs,
tablecloths and hammocks. In addition every folkloric handcrafted
Mexican trinket is available for your shopping pleasure. But
don’t limit your shopping experience to La Crucecita alone. The
surrounding areas also have many shops and markets.

Moreover,
don’t be surprise if local vendors and children approach you on the
beaches or in town offering an array of handicrafts. Young boys and
girls especially love selling temporary tattoos. Please remember its
adventurous getting to know the local people and besides; you’re
helping contribute to a family’s livelihood!

To
begin, no one in Mexico starts their nocturnal pursuits until 10pm or
later. If you’re looking for a lot of action, you’ll need to go
to the larger tourist cities such as Cancun. Huatulco is smaller and
more laid back, but there are plenty of spots around the bahias to
enjoy a night out. Clubs and bars normally stay open until 3:00
Am., sometimes later depending on customer demand.
